You might be a carer without realising it
Caring is not always something people plan for or put a name to. You might be supporting a partner, parent, child, relative, friend or neighbour.
If someone relies on you because of illness, disability, mental health, addiction or older age, Liverpool Carers Centre may be able to support you too.
Tell us what’s happening
Use this quick triage to narrow down what you need and find the most useful next step. Choose what sounds closest to your situation — you don't need to know the name of a service.

Supporting carers across Liverpool
2025/26
“I didn't think of myself as a carer. I was just looking after someone I love.”
A Liverpool carer
Behind every number is a person with their own caring story. Carers across Liverpool support the people they love in many different ways, and the right support can make a real difference.
Help identify and connect unpaid carers
Unpaid carers are identified in lots of places — GP practices, hospitals, social care, schools and colleges, housing services and community organisations. If you support someone who may be a carer, help them connect with Liverpool Carers Centre.
