Am I a carer?
I just help my mum every day...

Could you be a carer?
Caring doesn't always look like people expect it to. Answer a couple of quick questions to see whether what you do could mean you're a carer.
Do you regularly support someone?
Tick anything that sounds like you. There are no right or wrong answers. Nothing you select here is stored or sent to us.
Caring can look different for everyone
You don't have to live with someone or provide personal care to be a carer. You might support:
- a partner or parent
- a child who needs additional support
- a brother or sister
- a friend or neighbour
You might also be balancing caring with work, school, college or university.
You don't need to be sure
If you're wondering whether you're a carer, you can still ask for help. You don't need to receive Carer's Allowance or have a formal diagnosis for the person you support before speaking to someone about your situation.
You support someone.
We support you.
If you think you may be supporting someone in a caring role, or you are already caring for someone and would like to know what help is available, contact Liverpool Carers Centre.
You don't need to know which service or type of support to ask for. Tell us what's happening and we'll help you work out what to do next.
