Local Solutions volunteers supporting their community
Every contribution mattersWhether you give a few hours or volunteer regularly, your time can make a real difference.
Be part of something bigger

There is no single type of Local Solutions volunteer.

People join us to help others, build confidence, meet new people, share existing skills or gain experience for their future.

Opportunities

Find something that fits you

Volunteer opportunities change throughout the year and depend on what our services need. They may include helping at activities and events, supporting community projects, assisting at Liverpool Watersports Centre or sharing practical and administrative skills.

You do not need to know exactly what role you want before contacting us. Tell us about your interests, availability and what you would like to gain, and we can discuss current opportunities.

Questions

Before you volunteer

Do I need previous experience?

Not always. This depends on the role. Many opportunities are suitable for people looking to gain experience, and relevant training will be provided.

How much time do I need to give?

This varies by opportunity. Some roles need a regular commitment, while others may be linked to particular activities or events.

Will volunteering cost me money?

Agreed lunch and travel expenses are provided so that volunteering does not leave you out of pocket.

Will I need a DBS check?

Some roles may require a DBS check because of the people or service involved. We will explain any checks before you begin.

Can volunteering help me find work?

Volunteering can help you build confidence, skills and experience, but it does not guarantee employment.
