Liverpool Carers Centre is launching a city-wide awareness campaign for Carers Week 2026, encouraging unpaid carers across Liverpool to recognise themselves as carers and access the support available to them.
Delivered by Local Solutions, this year’s campaign is centred around the message “Am I a Carer? I just…”, highlighting the everyday actions that many people see as simply helping a loved one, rather than recognising them as caring responsibilities.
Throughout Carers Week, the Liverpool Carers Centre team will be taking support directly into communities, workplaces, hospitals and public spaces across the city, helping more people identify as carers and connect with advice, information and wellbeing support.

Throughout the week, carers will also have opportunities to take part in activities designed to promote wellbeing, connect with others and learn more about the support available to them.
A key feature of the campaign is a series of films featuring local carers sharing simple statements beginning with “I just…”, highlighting how many caring responsibilities are often viewed as part of everyday life rather than recognised as caring.
Many people who provide regular support to a family member, friend or neighbour do not realise they are carers. Whether helping someone manage a disability, long-term health condition, mental ill health, addiction or the challenges of ageing, caring can have a significant impact on a person’s own health and wellbeing.
The campaign aims to help Liverpool’s hidden carers recognise the support available to them, while also celebrating the invaluable contribution unpaid carers make to families and communities every day.
Liverpool Carers Centre provides information, advice, emotional support, activities and opportunities for carers to connect with others who understand the realities of caring.
Carers Week takes place from 8–14 June 2026 and is a national campaign dedicated to raising awareness of caring, recognising the contribution of unpaid carers and highlighting the challenges they face.
Anyone who regularly helps look after a family member, friend or neighbour who could not manage without their support is encouraged to find out more about the services available.
