2024 marks Local Solutions 50th anniversary and gives us a chance to celebrate 50 years of putting people at the heart of all that we do.
We’ve been a consistent and positive presence across the region throughout this time, caring unconditionally, understanding the challenges and empowering change. The last 50 years have seen many truly transformative initiatives grow through Local Solutions, from our work in youth homelessness including Supported Lodgings, intense mentoring, skills programmes, healthy relationships work and supported accommodation, to our social care initiatives like our help to live at home services, community wellbeing projects, wrap-around support for unpaid carers and MyTime breaks.
This coming year, as well as celebrating a big birthday, we’ll be using our anniversary to focus on our 3 ‘big missions’ to:
Transform Social Care
End Homelessness
Empower Communities.
To support this, we’ll be setting out a new strategy, launching a Community Empowerment Fund, extending our offers around accommodation, skills and care, and pushing for systems change and new ways of working wherever we can make a difference.
As ever, Local Solutions is all about people. Everything we do comes from the passion, dedication and skill of our staff, the people using services, our supporters, volunteers, and stakeholders and we would love you to get involved with Local Solutions in 2024, whether that is through sharing your experiences, volunteering, working with us, or supporting our projects.
