To mark International Women’s Day, we hosted a special event at Liverpool Watersports Centre – bringing together young people from our services and householders from the Supported Lodgings programme for a day focused on wellbeing, empowerment, and celebration.
Centred around this year’s themes of recognising women’s achievements and promoting equality, the event created space for reflection, connection, and self-care – especially for those who spend so much of their time supporting others.
Attendees took part in a series of calming, restorative sessions, including reiki, guided meditation, and breathing exercises, led by Kellie from New Horizons. Thanks to a partnership with Liverpool Community College, beauty students were also on hand to deliver pampering treatments – giving everyone a chance to relax, try something new, and enjoy a little well-deserved attention.
It was a warm and welcoming day, full of conversation, kindness, and shared experience – reminding everyone of the power of taking time for themselves.
