Lord Mayor's Charity of the Year

Councillor Rasmussen looks forward to raising essential funds for Local Solutions and help raise the profile of all the excellent work we do

Local solutions is the Lord Mayor's Charity of the Year

Local Solutions AIMS was developed to inspire young people who may have faced disadvantage across the city, providing them with the skills to move forward. Our aim is to bring together education, health & wellbeing, and core life skills to improve short- and long-term prospects for young people who are currently or at risk of becoming homeless, NEET and/or are leaving or have left the Care System

With the support of Lord Mayor, Councillor Mary Rasmussen, we will be able to extend our offer to support more young people across the city. Housing shortages have meant that many young people are living in unsuitable accommodation without the wrap around support to navigate systems.

With this funding and using our skills programmes we will provide young people with the support to access safe and suitable accommodation and maintain tenancies.

The Importance

Through our programme Young People can access intensive support alongside a full suite of skills, education resources and activities to promote positive emotional and physical wellbeing.

Local Solutions will soon celebrate its 50th year of providing support to the most disadvantaged in our community. Our work is guided by our vision of a society in which all people can live with dignity, lead fulfilled lives and realise their potential. With the support of our Lord Mayor we will continue to ensure we deliver services in line with our vision and our mission to empower people and support communities.
