Being a Trustee for Local Solutions is much more than just a governance role- it’s a commitment to ensuring that vulnerable individuals in our community receive the support they need. Whether it’s through the provision of Homecare, carers support, domestic abuse prevention or youth homelessness, Local Solutions has a profound impact on thousands of lives.
On a personal level, I understand the importance of providing exceptional levels of care, I have elderly parents and know well the emotional and physical demands of caregiving and recognise the vulnerability, dependence and need for support for both those being cared for and for those caring.
I have been a Trustee for over 3 years and, with a professional background in accountancy, I bring my experience and skills to the Board as we navigate challenging economic conditions, ensuring that we are able to do the best we can for the people who rely on our services and who we support.
One of the most rewarding aspects of being a Trustee is seeing the tangible impact Local Solutions has on individuals’ lives, reinforcing why our work is so important and why we need to adapt to face the evolving challenges faced by communities.
I am particularly proud of the impact that we have been able to have in communities through our Community Empowerment Fund, reaching areas and projects that otherwise struggle to get support. I was born and bred in Liverpool, and it is great to see the impact that this initiative is having on our great city, and surrounding areas. I am committed to using my influence as a Trustee to raise awareness of this initiative so that we can secure further funding to extend its reach.
