Registrations are now open for the Lord Mayor’s Dragon Boat Race on Sunday 12th May 2024 at Liverpool Watersports Centre.

Take on a 2,000-year-old Chinese tradition and have a go at dragon-boating while supporting the Lord Mayor’s Charity of the Year, Local Solutions.

A variety of Chinese cultural activities hosted by LCSSA including:
Cord crafting
Creating Zongzi (rice dumpling)
Modelling clay
Marble games

Whether you’re looking for a team building exercise, a networking opportunity, an opportunity to push your competitive limits or a fun day out with friends, family or colleagues, take part in the Lord Mayor’s Dragon Boat Race while raising money for Local Solutions AIMS to help support young people across Liverpool City Region.

Teams go head-to-head in long boats decorated with magnificent dragon figureheads. It’s a test of teamwork and concentration as well as a physical challenge. There’s a great atmosphere too, as family and friends line the shores and cheer on the teams.

Key Details

9am – All teams on site at Liverpool Watersports Centre for a health and safety briefing

10am – First race

Each team will take part in 2 races

15 team members maximum with 15 peoplpe paddling at any one time

A maximum number of 24 boats are available in this event so book early to avoid disappoitment
